Papa hou depicts two Mangopare bound together and tied in the

Angus Christy is a Māori wood-carver who has been honing his skills across decades. An art passed down from his father, Maori wood-carving is a discipline that preserves stories and protects tradition, ritual, and identity. Every decorative piece is carved by hand with mallet and chisel, while every element of the box is measured and shaped by Angus in his Lāi'e, Hawai'i woodshop.
